What Does the Bible Say About..The Son of God as Servant?

In Hebrew does son of God means servant of God? If yes wouldn't Jesus be a servant?

Answer

The only time the phrase “son of God” appears in the Hebrew of the Bible is in Daniel. The phrase there is “bar Elahh,” which means son of God. The word “bar” is never used of a servant.

Nevertheless, even though the phrase does not mean servant of God, Jesus still is/was a servant. “But I am among you as he that serves.” (Luke 22:27) “Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.” (Philippians 2:5-8)

Since he was a servant, we should also be serving. “Whosoever will be chief among you, let him be your servant.” (Matthew 20:27)
